For farmer organizations and agri-SMEs, professionalizing and gaining access to markets and finance rarely comes from one place — it takes assessment, capacity-building, market linkages and finance working together, turning farmer organizations into reliable, bankable business entities. AgriGRADE is a public-private partnership that makes this possible, developed by SCOPEinsight, Oikocredit, IDH and Agriterra with catalytic support from the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

At the 6th National Agribusiness Summit, the focus is on moving from fragmented production to a competitive, market-led agricultural sector. AgriGRADE delivers a practical, shared framework for that shift – connecting the tools, data and services of organizations already supporting farmer organizations and agri-SMEs into one tailored pathway:

1. ASSESS a cooperative’s business performance and growth potential
2. ADVISE on management, financial literacy and organizational sustainability
3. ACT on practical business plans that strengthen commercial capabilities, and
4.  ACCELERATE market linkages, access to finance and peer-to-peer learning

The model is value chain agnostic and designed to scale, allowing additional partners and local service providers to connect and contribute their own expertise.
In Kenya, AgriGRADE currently supports 28 farmer organizations linked to Meru Central Dairy Cooperative Union. Building on this experience, AgriGRADE is engaging government, private-sector and development partners to expand across value chains and regions in Kenya.
