The Kenya Youth in Agrifood Systems Coalition (KYASC) is the collective voice and action platform for young people shaping Kenya’s agrifood transformation. As a national umbrella platform for youth across the agrifood system, KYASC brings together young farmers, pastoralists, fisherfolk, agripreneurs, processors, traders, innovators, researchers, students, professionals, youth organisations, and youth-led enterprises into one coordinated and influential platform for collective action, leadership, and transformation.

Born from the Kenya Youth in Agrifood Systems Summit 2026 and the regional youth in agrifood systems dialogues that preceded it, KYASC builds on a shared recognition that young people are already active across Kenya’s agrifood systems, but their impact is often constrained by fragmented representation, limited access to productive resources, weak market linkages, inadequate opportunities, and limited influence in decision-making.

At its core, KYASC is driven by a bold ambition of building a strong, organised and influential youth constituency that can shape policies, unlock investment, create sustainable enterprises and decent work, strengthen markets, drive innovation and lead the transition towards resilient, sustainable and inclusive agrifood systems. With a clear focus on youth leadership, enterprise, investment, and private-sector partnerships, KYASC goes beyond convening young people. It connects youth to opportunities, strengthens
their collective voice, builds bridges with government and the private sector, and turns youth priorities into practical action.

The Coalition seeks to ensure that young people are not only represented in conversations about agriculture but are actively shaping policy, influencing investment decisions, participating across agrifood value chains and markets, driving innovation, and contributing to the governance and transformation of Kenya’s agrifood systems.
